The government has agreed to a significant change in fuel prices associated with the running costs and savings shown on Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). These adjustments are necessary due to major shifts in fuel prices over recent years and EPCs not keeping up with the changes to provide a true reflection.
From 15th February 2023 fuel prices for Domestic EPCs will be updated. This will impact all EPCs submitted after this date for both existing and new build properties. This change is much needed and will provide a more accurate representation of the current running costs and savings for heating, hot water and lighting.
The results of an EPC depend upon the information entered by the Energy Assessor, data from the SAP Methodology and BRE’s Product Characteristic Database (PCDB). Therefore it is important that these figures are correct and up-to-date to provide accurate scoring.
